When I say how much it always bothers me that people think calling other people “animals” or saying someone is acting “like an animal” as put-downs or degrading insults bothers me — that it bothers me so much that people don’t recognize that we ARE animals, and that is far from the worst thing about us — Delia totally agrees. That these things always bother her, too.
That I can get all worked up talking about “dehumanization” not being nearly as accurate as our deanimalization, and she not only tolerates my ravings, but understands them.
